“ Almost 6 months passed, since I joined Susrut Eye Foundation and Research Centre, Kolkata as a fellow in Cataract subspecialty. I am grateful to the institution as it gave me excellent methodical training and good surgical exposure in small incision cataract surgery as well as in various techniques of phaco-emulsification under guidance of eminent surgeons. We also got chance to diagnose and treat patients in Camp ward and OPD to sharpen our clinical skill. Our faculties are very helpful and always there to discuss about our surgical and clinical queries. Every week we have scheduled clinical discussion sessions about various topics of ophthalmology. Apart from the great clinical environment, management team and staffs of this institution are very supportive. Last of all, I want to thank Susrut for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this great institution.
“I have done MS ophthalmology from Assam Medical college, Dibrugarh. I have joined Susrut Eye Foundation & Research Centre in August, 2017, as a cataract fellow. I have learned steps of SICS & Phacoemulsification here under supervision of Dr. R.C.Paul. Sir taught us how to go for each & every steps of surgery to reduce the complication rate & improve the outcome. We also watch recordings of our surgeries & discuss with Sir later on, which is a great benefit to correct our mistakes and improve our skills. I am enjoying doing cataract fellowship in this institution. It is a very good place for doing cataract fellowship.”
“ Hi, this is Dr. Madhusudan Mandal presently working as a consultant ophthalmologist at Susrut Eye Foundation and Research Centre, Saltlake. I have completed my fellowship in cataract from this prestigious institute on 30/11/17. Before entering into the fellowship programme, I had negligible exposure in cataract surgery. Now I am confident enough to do both SICS and Phacoemulsification and to manage the surgical complications also. In this context, I gratefully acknowledge and respect my supervisor Dr. R. C. Paul sir for his guidance, supervision, constructive criticism and care of my clinical and surgical activities. His professionalism, honesty and simplicity were the instrumental in enriching me not only academically but also in my personality. I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the consultants of this institution for their guidance, fortuitous contributions and timely inputs. I also extend my sincere thanks to all the staffs for their immense support in helping me throughout in this endeavour.”
“Within few months of joining fellowship, I have transformed from medical ophthalmologist to a competent Phaco surgeon. All thanks to unparalleled quality of training we are getting here, with healthy number of surgeries everyday and video recording with subsequent discussion of all surgeries.
